Secret Cinema Experience

By April 22, 2016News, Work outings

Last night, Ailsa and I were treated to an unusual night out with Ideal Standard at the Secret Cinema. Not really knowing what to expect, we headed off to a secret location in London, medical passes in hand and wearing dark clothes and trainers as instructed. Our hosts promised us an interesting night out… we weren’t disappointed!

For a brief overview, Secret Cinema’s official blurb states:

Secret Cinema is a growing community of all who love cinema, experience and the unknown. Secret audience. Secret locations. Secret worlds. Tell No One.

This year’s film choice is 28 Days Later (for those of you that haven’t seen the 2002 cult classic, think zombies, blood and the end of the World!) To get into the spirit of the film we were given medical scrubs to wear and a contamination kit to protect us from the Rage Virus. Penicillin, mercury and iodine cocktails were available to buy – so obviously we had to ensure we were fully ‘medicated’ before going too far into the night! The secret site is transformed into a St Thomas’ Hospital location and right from arrival you become immersed in the whole experience. It was great seeing everyone get involved, and adrenaline kicking in as the night wore on.

I don’t want to tell you too much about it, but if you’ve booked to go then you’re in for a fantastically, unique experience! If you haven’t booked to go then I thoroughly recommend it – I will definitely be signing up for the event next year, and can’t wait to find out what film they will choose! This experience is different, surreal, chaotic, unconventional, and immensely fun!

Big thank you to Becky of Ideal Standard for inviting us – we had a fabulous time! www.ideal-standard.co.uk www.thebath-room.co.uk
