Egger factory / Showroom visit + Milan Expo 2015

By May 18, 2015News

This month I was fortunate enough to be invited to visit the EGGER factory, followed by a visit to the Milan Expo! A group of 40+ industry folk landed at Munich airport one Monday, to be whisked away by luxury coach to St. Johann in Tirol, Austria. After settling into our rooms at the Hotel Post (complete with EGGER finishes galore so we could see the product in action!) we all met for dinner where a great deal of hospitality and networking were forthcoming.

The following day we headed to the EGGER headquarters where we enjoyed a tour of the factory showing us all the various production stages. We were also given a talk on the new décor ranges that are being released and got to explore the showroom. I particularly liked seeing the clever kitchen projection box where you can play around with all the EGGER finishes and design your dream (or nightmare!) kitchen – see examples in the images below! After being well fed and watered, we then piled back on to the coach for the 6 hour journey across the border into Italy. We were kept well entertained with a quiz and lots of chatter from everyone! Arriving in Milan, we checked in to Starhotels Business Palace for a good night’s rest before the visit to the Expo.

Where to start on Wednesday’s explorations?! We got the train in to the Expo – and WOW is it impressive! A massive site full of various countries pavilions, stunning architecture, informative installations, thought provoking messages, and lots and lots of visitors! It’s on for 6 months, and if you fancy a trip to Milan then I would definitely recommend it. You can find more information here www.expo2015.org I think a picture speaks a thousand words and so rather than try and explain more about Expo, please find below a selection of my photos from my visit.

All that’s left to say is a massive THANK YOU to EGGER for arranging such a fantastic trip with such a great group of people – definitely a trip to remember!
