Rosewood London – Design Team Outing

Lauren Juozokas – interior designer

Recently, Kate treated the design team to a lovely lunch at the iconic Rosewood Hotel, followed by an outstanding tour of the public and private areas of the premises.

The Rosewood is a timeless heritage hotel, as detailed on their website:

“Guests arrive at Rosewood London through an archway that opens into a grand Edwardian courtyard, in a little oasis of tranquillity unique among London luxury hotels. It is the perfect start to a memorable stay in a timeless heritage hotel, set just steps from Covent Garden.”

It was certainly the perfect place to arrive a few minutes ahead of schedule!  Taking in the details of the lobby from the comfort of a plush sofa, I couldn’t help but appreciate the hotel staff’s uniforms. Concierge, valet driver, luggage porter, you name it; each sported a bespoke wardrobe entirely suited to the Rosewood aesthetic.

Once the rest of the design team arrived, we headed over to the brasserie-style Holborn Dining Room, already beginning to bustle with business men on their lunch breaks.  Outfitted with red leather banquettes and oak joinery, it was a great spot to enjoy their classic British menu. A few filling courses later, we returned to the rose gold-gated lobby for our much anticipated tour.

After a couple minutes ogling the sweetest hotel dog, we were brought through the Scarves Bar and Mirror Room, then into a few Signature Suites. Each one was fitted out with Italian linen, leather and marble; a real treat for the senses! My favourite had to be the suite on the top floor, whose original floor to ceiling window glazing added that special something.

Overall, it was a delightful outing, one that reminded us of the famous dictum that “God is in the details.”

Thank you to the Rosewood team that were so accommodating during our visit and really made us feel welcome. To find out more about Rosewood London please visit their website www.rosewoodhotels.com/en/london
