Rethink Interiors provided the interior design services for a phased refurbishment plan including the public areas (reception, lobby lounge, bar, restaurant and public washrooms), and a new extension providing an additional 79 guestrooms. The concept for the refurbishment took inspiration from a previous tenant, pioneer ballonist, Thomas Baldwin’s escapades and includes bespoke carpets, artwork and fretwork which reflect the views from a hot air balloon sailing high in the sky. The Tudor styling of the local architecture in Chester also plays a part in the refurbishment with patterns appearing in the washrooms and on the extensive glazed walling.
