After 3 months spent at Rethink Interiors, my internship has come to an end. It is crazy how fast time flies when you’re having a good time. During my internship I have done lots of things, but my main work was to raise awareness of the company through social media.
I met and worked with some wonderful colleagues. They were very understanding when I had difficulties in speaking English. I remember on my first day, I really struggled to make the right sentences, but fortunately it became easier week after week. I can’t thank them enough for their kindness.
I am so grateful for the variety of work I was able to undertake. I attended meetings with suppliers, and saw various samples of rugs, tiles, fabrics, and much more. I visited hotels like The Lalit Hotel and The Ned Hotel. I also attended a presentation about the Danish way of life “Hygge”, and events organised by the hospitality industry network NEWH.
My favourite moment was Clerkenwell Design Week. I felt so honoured to attend this special event, which is organised only once a year. I really appreciated being able to discover so many furniture designers, and the opportunity to meet lots of professionals passionate by their work.
During my spare time I travelled a lot. I discovered the different districts of London and saw the landmarks of the capital. I also visited the surrounding cities like Cambridge, Brighton and Oxford. England is a beautiful country with many gorgeous landscapes.
My last week was marked by a visit to the top of the Shard. I could admire the stunning view of London by night from the Skydeck of the building. I saw the beauty of the city with all its twinkling lights. This moment was a perfect end to my trip.
To sum up, my trip to London was a rewarding experience. I know how lucky I am for having joined Rethink Interiors and met this super team. I thank Kate, Ailsa, Maddy and Maria for all those pleasant moments spent together. I will keep a very good memory of those 3 months.
If I have an advice to give to other students, it is: be curious and open-minded, and of course, I recommend to all of them to carry out an internship here.
But now is time to say goodbye and I feel sad, but I am sure to come back one day to see these wonderful girls again.
